Open House and Q+A

In preparation for the closure of the Alaskan Way Viaduct on January 11, 2019, SDOT invites Seattle employers to join partners WSDOT, Metro, and Commute Seattle on Friday, December 7th for an open house Q+A session on the Viaduct closure and the Waterfront Tunnel opening.  We encourage all employers to attend this valuable information session. 

The closure of the Viaduct on January 11 and the following three weeks without SR 99 connecting through downtown will significantly impact local and regional traffic patterns. The opening of the tunnel in late January will further change how people get around.  

As an employer, this is the time to plan ahead for impacts to employee commutes as well as to freight and operations.  This is your chance to ask questions of the transportation agencies, learn about resources available to support you and employees through the upcoming challenges, and talk to your peers about strategies to maintain mobility during this time.
